What this is: VenueForge is a browser-local research workbench. It reads dated European Central Bank (ECB) reference observations and replays them as a paper-only simulation. No money moves and no real orders are sent.
Run a research session
- Choose an instrument. Select a currency pair such as EUR / USD, then refresh the official ECB source or load the dated bundled snapshot.
- Check the source. Read the observation date, retrieval time, freshness, source URL, digest, chart, and the expandable observed-rate table. The digest is a SHA-256 fingerprint of the source data, not a signature.
- Replay observations. Move one day at a time, use the slider, or play the replay. The current rate is a historical reference observation, not a live quote.
- Enable the paper simulation. Review the side, whole-EUR quantity, and optional limit reference. “Enable simulation” only enables hypothetical calculations.
- Simulate an order. A fill uses the selected daily reference rate. This model has no spread, fees, slippage, queue, liquidity, or historical execution claim.
- Review the session. The ledger records simulated outcomes. Rewind, pair changes, source changes, contract changes, and reset clear the affected paper state and leave simulation killed.
- Use the scenario tools. Validate and apply the bounded JSON scenario, save one checked scenario on this browser, or export a research report. No account, cloud persistence, database, or real trading service is used.
Plain-language glossary
- ECB
- European Central Bank, the public source of these daily euro reference rates.
- Reference observation
- A dated published rate used for research replay; it is not an executable market quote.
- Replay
- Stepping through the observed dates in order without looking ahead.
- Simulated order / fill
- A paper calculation recorded by this browser. It never reaches a venue or moves funds.
- Spread, fees, slippage, and liquidity
- Trading costs and execution limits intentionally omitted from this small model.
- Position and equity
- Simulated EUR holdings, and simulated cash plus the holdings valued at the current reference rate.
- Scenario JSON
- Structured text describing bounded simulation settings. It is not FinancialSpec or an operational risk policy.
- Digest / hash
- A repeatable fingerprint used to identify source or scenario content. It is not proof, a signature, or an authorization.
- FinancialSpec
- VenueForge’s separate financial protocol specification; this browser MVP does not compile or qualify it.
